LANGUAGE ARTS

Aesop's Fables Deluxe

We've put together a handful of Aesop's fables into a format especially written for young
students.  The songs are simple and playful, encouraging students to delight in the sounds of
language (phonemic awareness) while they practice basic word-building skills.  This show is
uniquely designed so that teachers can choose to have their kids do the entire show or merely
perform any number of individual scenes/songs.

Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock

Anansi is based on a West African tale.  It's the story of a very tricky spider who discovers
a magic rock which he uses to steal food from all the jungle inhabitants.  The last laugh is on
Anansi, of course, but not before everyone has a chance to sing some fun songs about yams,
dancing mangos, and Anansi's mischief.  It can be used merely as part of a Folk Tales or
Trickster component to the curriculum, but it lends itself naturally to multicultural aspects of
social studies.

Coyote Steals the Summer

This Native American tale tells how Coyote brings summer to the worlds and earns his
famous gift of trickery as a reward.  Our fifteen minute musical version of this delightful story

The Emperor's New Clothes

classic tale about vanity and pride is perfect for stimulating discussion.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Specifically designed for kindergarten through third grade, this 15 minute version of the
misadventures of Goldilocks is a perfect way to introduce musical theater to younger kids.
The entire class sings the story, interrupted by several enthusiastic students who repeatedly
try to introduce characters from other favorite children's tales.

Grammarosaurus

Dick, Jane, and Spot are trying hard to learn grammar, but they could use some help.  Lucky
for them, they run into the Loch Ness Monster, who turns out to be a Grammarosaurus, a
dinosaur specializing in punctuation.  Designed for students beginning their study of grammar,
Grammarosaurus is a great introduction to and review of English language concepts.

Jack and Beanstalk

CHARACTER EDUCATION

Character Matters

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Fairy Tale Advice Council. Led by Rapunzel, a
Handsome Prince, and a (recovering) Wicked Witch, the council offers help in character
building to famous fold creatures.  In this fun and non-preachy show, the Big Bad Wolf learns
the Golden Rule, Cinderella gets help in managing her hanger at her bullying stepsisters, and
Jack and the Giant discover that their differences are cool.  Character Matters is a great
complement to your curriculum in character education.

The Nutrition Show:

The Rumpus in the Rainforest

Mastering Math
A Sherlock Holmes Problem Solving Mystery

Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson return to help us learn techniques of mathematical
problem solving.  This is his first case - ever - and he gets a lot of help in learning how to
problem solve.  By the time he solves the crime, he's learned how to use six basic techniques
for solving the math problems he's been faced with:  guess and check, draw a picture, draw
a chart, look for a pattern, work backwards, and act it out. This is a great show for reviewing
ways to set up and answer word problems.

The Turkeys Go On Strike
